Product & Delivery Lead

Location: London (Hybrid – Minimum 3 days per week)

Collaboration Opportunity

One of our clients is looking to appoint a Product & Delivery Lead to take ownership of a business-critical technology platform that sits at the heart of its digital transformation programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate on a senior product and technology search with a well-established consultancy operating within the construction and real estate sector. If you recruit across Product Management, Delivery, SaaS, Digital Transformation or Technical Project Leadership, this is a high-impact role worth adding to your desk.

About the Business

Our client is an established consultancy currently investing heavily in modernising its technology, operational processes and digital capabilities.

Central to this transformation is a proprietary platform that has already become integral to the business and is now entering its next stage of evolution. While originally developed as an internal operational system, the long-term ambition is to commercialise the platform as a SaaS product.

This appointment will play a pivotal role in shaping that journey.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional Software Engineering position, nor is it a conventional Project Management role.

Instead, the successful candidate will become the custodian of an evolving product, taking ownership of its roadmap, development, implementation and long-term success.

Working closely with the senior leader responsible for the transformation programme, they will balance technical delivery with commercial decision-making, ensuring the platform continues to deliver value to the wider business while positioning it for future commercialisation.

The role combines elements of:

  • Product Ownership
  • Product Strategy
  • Technical Delivery
  • Project Management
  • Software Engineering
  • Stakeholder Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the ongoing evolution and strategic direction of the platform.
  • Develop, maintain and prioritise the product roadmap.
  • Coordinate internal and external development activity.
  • Balance technical requirements with commercial priorities.
  • Translate operational challenges into product enhancements.
  • Drive user adoption and platform engagement across the business.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation and onboarding.
  • Challenge technical decisions and provide informed engineering oversight.
  • Help determine when to build internally and when to utilise external development resource.
  • Ensure every new release delivers measurable business value.

Candidate Profile

The client is looking for someone who combines product ownership with strong technical credibility and commercial awareness.

Key experience includes:

  • Product ownership or product management.
  • Technical delivery or software engineering leadership.
  • Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Roadmap ownership and prioritisation.
  • Stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Project and delivery management.
  • Commercial decision-making.
  • Systems thinking and process improvement.
  • Confidence leading cross-functional initiatives.

Technology Environment

The platform has been built using a modern technology stack including:

  • TypeScript
  • Next.js
  • React
  • tRPC
  • Prisma
  • PostgreSQL
  • Redis
  • NextAuth
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Whilst previous exposure to these technologies is beneficial, the client places greater emphasis on product ownership, delivery capability and technical judgement than experience with any specific stack.

Ideal Background

Candidates from the following environments are likely to be particularly relevant:

  • SaaS
  • ERP platforms
  • PropTech
  • Workflow automation
  • Internal business systems
  • Digital transformation
  • Operational software
  • Construction technology
  • Manufacturing technology
  • Logistics platforms

Previous experience within founder-led businesses or high-growth scale-ups would also be advantageous.

What Success Looks Like

The successful individual will be measured by outcomes rather than activity, including:

  • Successful platform adoption across the business.
  • Clear ownership of product direction.
  • Delivery of a well-managed product roadmap.
  • Continuous platform improvement.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Successful coordination of technical delivery.
  • Improved operational efficiency.
  • Progress towards commercialising the platform as a SaaS product.

What's on Offer

  • Hybrid working with a minimum of three days per week in the London office.
  • Salary guide of £60,000–£80,000, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
  • Permanent opportunity (originally scoped as a fixed-term appointment but now expected to be a long-term permanent hire).
  • The chance to take ownership of a business-critical platform with genuine long-term commercial potential.
